DUBROVNIK DIVING |
Tomislav - A small cove lies in the southwest part of the Island of Lokrum, close to Pt. Galija and beneath a cliff face; to the right is a small thumb-shaped point.
Diving tips: To reach the site, anchor in the cove, descend by following the point and wall and then down to the depths. The wreck lies about 20 m from the wall, its bow facing the shore, its stern resting on the sandy seabed at 40 m, and may be explored in its entirety. Along the wall you may encounter lobsters, conger and moray eels and scorpionfish, which are also found beneath the ship’s bow; forkbeards prefer to swim around the upper deck.
Marine life: Species you are likely to encounter are: largespotted dogfish, lobsters, scorpionfish, moray eels, forkbeards, giant tun, smaller fish, octopi, and others.
Bezdan - Pt. Bezdan lies on the southern shore of the Island of Koločep where the sheer cliffs that are to be found in the north drop gradually, creating slopes and shallows; this dramatic transition is best seen beneath the lighthouse where the slope drops suddenly and sharply into the abyss, making it an interesting diving site with numerous passages, openings and smaller caves.
Diving tips: Anchoring is best on the sheltered side of the point. Descent is to a shipwreck and may continue on to the centre of the cove and a visit to the remains of The Aurora (16-19 m), a two-mast coaster found at a depth of 5 m, and an ideal decompression stop.
Marine life: Point Bezdan is a good habitat for various species - Scyllarides latus squat lobsters, sea figs, sea squirts that feed on organic waste and plankton, as well as moss, and eggs of the Fasciolaria lignaria spindle snail. These waters also abound in blennies and gobies, two of the most frequent residents of this part of the Adriatic coast.
Mala Afrika - This site lies in the southwest part of the Lapad peninsula, between the mainland and Greben.
Diving tips: The site is reached by boat, which is fastened to a buoy. Dive due south following the wall that drops to 40 m. A cave lies halfway down the wall, at a point where it drops into the depths. The remains of amphorae on the seabed at the cave’s entrance bear testimony to the numerous shipwrecks here. To the right of the cave, a passage located at 18 m leads to a sunken trawler. Its bow faces the mainland and its stern lies at a depth of 40 m. The whole wreck can be explored – the cabins, platform, as well as the adjacent wall, and it is home to lobsters, scorpionfish, conger and moray eels. Forkbeards are found in the ship’s interior and scorpionfish beneath its stern.
Marine life: This is a good habitat for numerous species: lobsters, scorpionfish, moray eels, forkbeards, giant tun, smaller fish, octopi, and others.
Taranto - In front of Grebeni, half a mile west of Dubrovnik, lie the remains of the Taranto, an Italian trading vessel built in Rotterdam in 1899 and mobilised by the Italian navy during the war for transporting military provisions. On 15 February 1943, while transporting flour and tractors to Dubrovnik, she ran into a mine near Grebeni, hit the cliff, shattering her bow, and sank. Today, this 62-metre vessel serves as an artificial bank. Two tractors stand next to the wreck on the sandy seabed, ready for ploughing. The maximum depth here is 53 m.
Diving tips: The anchoring line is tied to the wreck’s bow (23 m) and descent is along the anchoring line. The ship’s bow appears out of the darkness at 10 m. Its interior is visible. The dive continues on to the stern. The ship’s steam engine lies at approx. 45 m, its 10-metre chimney rising upwards. The stern lies at 50 m. Two tractors and the remains of the cargo lie strewn around the wreck. The rupture on the bow created by collision with the cliff allows divers to dive under the wreck.
Marine life: Like all metal objects, the Taranto is covered in various sponges, bryozoans and anemones. Swimming around her, one may encounter schools of mullet and cardinalfish. Forkbeards hide in the cargo hold; they and the other sea residents bring new life. Scorpionfish and lobsters inhabit the wall on which she rests and mullets and ocotopi are found on the seabed.

RAFTING CETINA |
Rafting as a mode of transport in Croatia has a long tradition, but modern adventure rafting began on the wild waters only in the late eighties and discovered the amazing beauty of Croatian rivers, until then known only to relatively few kayaking adventurers and fishermen.Cetina River and its strange beauty of the canyon offer an unforgettable experience and justify the epithet of Omis as the best place for rafting, for both beginners and old fans of the sport.
River Cetina waters are directed via a tunnel to the sea, the experience is exceptional thanks to the dense vegetation along the river, clear waters, high cliffs, waterfalls and caves.
Raft or kayak ride down the river of Cetina Cikotina Lada to Blato (10 km) lasts between three and four hours. For those daring and skill, and braver, we recommend the section id to Zadvarje starting point, which can pass only by kayak. This section is also 10 km long, but offers much more excitement and beauty of true karst steep and narrow canyon of river Cetina.

RAFTING TARA (Montenegro) |
Tara - one of the most beautiful and most attractive rivers in Europe. On its 145 kilometer long flow form Komovi, Tara made an almost 100 km long and 1.3 km deep canyon. The Tara canyon is the second deepest in the world, just after the famous Colorado River in USA, but certainly, it is the most beautiful canyon in the world. It is in a very calm area, far away from any Balkan troubles and disturbances. Because of its pure drinkable water, opulent vegetation and wild life, with great number of endemic species, Tara Canyon is under protection of UNESCO...
